Job summary

MAP SSG is seeking a Senior Data Engineer II to own and evolve its company-wide data platform. This senior IC role requires strong architectural judgment with hands-on execution across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, warehouse, and serving layers.

You will design data pipelines, write production code, troubleshoot complex issues, and ship with the team. You will mentor engineers and influence decisions across Engineering, Product, Analytics, and Data Science, enabling AI capabilities

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform engineering.
• Deep production experience with Airflow or a comparable workflow orchestrator.
• Hands-on Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks).
• Experience operating containerized data infrastructure in production.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve data architecture across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, warehouse, and serving layers.
• Make independent architectural decisions regarding freshness, cost, scalability, reliability.
• Design and implement platform-level improvements for cost management and developer experience.
• Lead long-term platform investments across teams to prevent blockers.
• Build monitoring, testing, and incident-response practices for data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized data services in production.
• Mentor data engineers and review architectural decisions.
