Job summary

Ad Hoc seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize scalable data pipelines across batch and real-time processing. You will drive data architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, analytics, and security teams.

You will build robust ETL/ELT workflows, data models, and governance practices, ensuring data quality and secure access while enabling impactful public-sector analytics and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years designing enterprise data platforms.
• Strong SQL, Python/Java/Scala, and ETL/ELT pipeline experience.
• Cloud data platforms experience across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery or Synapse.
• Relational and NoSQL databases; Spark or similar big data tech.
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance, and lineage practices.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, security practices, and Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Lead data architecture decisions and mentor engineers on data initiatives.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows and data models for analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into data solutions.

• Present designs and strategies to clients, partners, and engineers.
