Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead enterprise data pipelines and platform solutions. This remote role partners with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to design scalable, secure data platforms and to mentor peers.

Responsibilities include building robust ingestion workflows, implementing ALM practices, and enabling Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) integrated with Azure and Fabric for analytics-ready data.

Qualifications

7+ years in analytics or data engineering and related technical roles.
SQL with complex query optimization and data preparation.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and scalable architectures.
Git version control and Python scripting experience.
Experience designing Power Platform solutions including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Copilot Studio.
Experience modeling data for AI/ML workloads.

Responsibilities

Owns delivery and operational outcomes for assigned data domains.
Design, implement, and maintain complex data ingestion and orchestration workflows.
Make technical design decisions for scalability and performance.
Identify opportunities to integrate AI into engineering workflows.
Lead governance of Power Platform solutions and establish reusable standards.
Design enterprise Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI integrations with Azure and Fabric.
Create analytics-ready data and support BI developers and analysts.
Collaborate with BI, Data Integrity, and Data Science to meet analytical rigor.
