Qualifications

• 8+ years of industrial experience in data engineering with an advanced degree or 12+ years with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Mastery of data modeling concepts and data warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake) in production.
• Strong PySpark, SQL, and Python skills; knowledge of OO/compiled languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term data engineering strategy guided by company priorities and best practices.
• Design ecosystems across multiple pipelines and API boundaries; simplify infrastructure to lower maintenance.
• Make build vs buy decisions and review designs to manage technical risk.
• Improve developer efficiency and establish engineering-wide quality practices.
• Deliver major features and systems with monitoring and measurable success metrics.
• Enforce data governance, quality, and security policies across the data lifecycle.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and coach engineers to maximize impact.
