SmithRx is a rapidly growing Health-Tech company modernizing PBM with a data-driven platform. The Data Engineering team transforms streams into insights, enabling analytics and ML to optimize drug pricing and governance across distributed systems.

We leverage open-source tools like Airflow and dbt on Snowflake, using Python heavily to implement scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and support executive decision-making. This role guides architecture and execution at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industrial data engineering experience or 12+ with bachelor’s degree in CS/related field
• Demonstrated mastery of data modeling concepts and data warehouse technologies
• Strong skills in PySpark, SQL, and Python; other languages are a plus

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term data engineering strategy and architecture
• Design and simplify pipelines and API boundaries to reduce maintenance
• Drive engineering excellence and evaluate build vs. buy decisions
• Mentor engineers and communicate strategies to executives
