Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the reliability of finance data, building pipelines, transformations, and data models turning billing and usage data into revenue figures and forecasts. You will collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and Revenue to ensure accurate metrics and robust data infrastructure.

You will design dbt models, set testing standards, mentor engineers, and raise the bar for data quality and auditable lineage across the Finance data stack.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, owning production data pipelines end-to-end.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with production-grade, testable code.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT/ETL workflows, including orchestration tooling like Airflow or Dagster.
• Direct experience with Finance data, including usage-based billing or revenue metrics.
• Ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders and translate business questions into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Own pipelines that bring billing, usage, and contract data into the warehouse reliably.
• Diagnose and resolve data quality and freshness issues at the source.
• Design and maintain dbt models turning raw data into clean datasets for revenue and forecasting.
• Set testing/documentation standards to ensure accuracy for Finance reconciliation.
• Build datasets and semantic models powering dashboards and reports for planning and close.
• Reduce reliance on ad-hoc requests by enabling self-service.
