Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Staff level Engineer to lead the design and development of our Finance Data Platform, the foundational system powering revenue reporting, billing, forecasting, and compliance.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering, you will define the technical vision for the financial data ecosystem, partner with Finance, Accounting, and Revenue leadership, and build auditable pipelines using Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Experience designing financial-grade data platforms for reporting and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of SOX, SOC 2, and audit readiness.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead data architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a data platform supporting revenue recognition and billing.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to translate requirements into architecture.
• Define data ingestion, transformation, and storage guidelines emphasizing auditability and lineage.
• Lead architecture decisions and roadmap for finance data platform maturity.
