Job summary

Vercel is seeking an Engineer to lead the design and development of the Finance Data Platform, powering revenue reporting, billing, and forecasting across the business. You will architect data infrastructure that supports Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Operations, building auditable pipelines using Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering, you will guide technical vision, collaborate with Finance and Audit leadership, and mentor engineers

Qualifications

• Proven track record owning production data pipelines end-to-end.
• Experience designing large-scale data infrastructures in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with financial data, ERP systems, or billing platforms is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, and auditability.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a data platform supporting revenue recognition, billing, and financial reporting across batch and real-time workloads.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to translate requirements into architecture and ensure data accuracy for reporting deadlines.
• Oversee data modeling, ETL, and warehousing (ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake) for low-latency analytics and reliable historical reporting.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices in high-accountability data environments.
• Ensure SOX, SOC 2, and regulatory compliance in data pipelines, with strong monitoring and incident response.
