Wpromote is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and automation of our data pipelines. You will architect initiatives, mentor engineers, and partner with management to improve delivery speed and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development with Python, SQL, and data pipelines.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with Airflow; Airbyte is a plus.
• Deep dbt experience with macros and tests; proficient in Python, API integrations, and software architecture.
• PostgreSQL and BigQuery with query optimization for performance and cost.
• BI tools like Looker or equivalents; Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Proficiency with Parquet, Avro, Hive, JSONL and data integration.
• Monitoring/logging with Prometheus/Grafana is a plus.
• Git and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Strong agile, CI, and TDD; technical leadership.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical leader and SME in data pipeline automation and workflow orchestration.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex data solutions focused on automation using Airflow, dbt, and Google Cloud data products.
• Manage a large portfolio of dbt models with macros and tests.
• Promote test-driven development and CI/CD practices.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.
• Architect scalable solutions and reusable patterns for business needs.
• Provide deployment documentation and agile ceremony participation.
• Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence.
