Senior Data Engineer — Build Greenfield Snowflake Platform

Job summary

Harnham is partnering with a rapidly growing organization embarking on a major data modernization to build a scalable, enterprise-grade data platform for reporting, analytics, and future AI initiatives. You will design and implement a Snowflake-based data warehouse, develop ELT pipelines, and own governance and architecture.

The role emphasizes ownership of a greenfield environment, collaboration with stakeholders, and a path toward leading data strategy and platform decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Warehousing.
• Strong experience building and managing cloud data platforms.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and ELT processes.
• Knowledge of data architecture and data governance principles.
• Ability to understand and support the end-to-end data lifecycle.
• Experience with Fivetran is highly desirable.
• Exposure to Medallion Architecture is a plus.
• Experience with AI-enabled data platforms or Snowflake Cortex is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance a modern Snowflake-based data warehouse environment.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT data pipelines.
• Create and manage dbt models, transformations, and data products.
• Support data ingestion from multiple operational systems.
• Improve data quality, integrity, and consistency across the organization.
• Establish data governance, cataloging, and architectural standards.
• Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to deliver trusted reporting datasets.
• Work closely with implementation consultants before assuming ownership of the platform.
• Support the evolution of the company's long-term data and AI roadmap.
