Job summary

EY is seeking an Assistant Director – Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms to shape enterprise data, analytics and AI capabilities. You will lead with business leaders, architects and engineering teams to establish technical direction, deliver modern data platforms and create measurable value.

You’ll guide architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive secure, scalable solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, cloud platforms and AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology discipline.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platforms or analytics engineering.
• Experience providing technical leadership to development teams and guiding architecture decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric (at least one).
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, modelling, testing and production support.
• Experience leading cross-functional delivery teams and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise data, analytics and AI platform initiatives from design to production support.
• Guide architecture decisions to meet security, scalability and operational requirements.
• Lead technical workstreams and multidisciplinary teams through design, development and deployment.
• Review data pipelines, platform integrations and analytics solutions for reliability and performance.
• Manage risks, dependencies and delivery timelines with governance and quality controls.
• Coach and mentor team members and promote best engineering practices.
• Communicate technical risks and options to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support onshore and offshore transitions including knowledge transfer and post-transition stabilization.
