Job summary

Grainger's Central Data Platform team is seeking a senior data engineer to design and operate scalable data pipelines across Databricks and Snowflake, enabling analytics, AI agents, and decision support.

You will partner with AI, Platform, and Business Analytics teams to translate business problems into production-ready data products, while mentoring others and advancing data engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of batch and streaming data engineering with Spark, Python, Scala.
• Experience with Databricks Workflows or Airflow and orchestration tools.
• Strong experience with Snowflake AI capabilities and CI/CD in data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data processing systems and pipelines.
• Define platform patterns for AI-ready data products and governed data assets.
• Support Snowflake AI initiatives and Databricks requests with best practices.
• Build data models and mappings, perform exploratory data analysis.
• Educate teams on data patterns and AI-enablement approaches.
