Job summary

Fivetran, Inc. seeks a seasoned digital community manager to lead the dbt community initiatives.

You will own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community, shape engagement programs, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure a welcoming, productive space for data practitioners worldwide. You’ll build scalable moderation workflows, coach moderators, collect insights for Product, Marketing, and Support, and monitor key metrics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in digital community management.
• Experience owning day-to-day operations for a large online community (Slack/Discord/forum), including moderation, member support, and health.
• Strong understanding of online community dynamics and how to cultivate trust and belonging at scale.
• Experience building and improving moderation workflows, including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Excellent written communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience using community tooling and analytics to track engagement and drive improvement.
• Data-informed decision making with defined KPIs for engagement and health.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Support, and Developer Experience.
• Cultural fluency and sensitivity to regional/timezone differences.
• High emotional intelligence; able to navigate conflict and ambiguity.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple streams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the dbt Slack community worldwide.
• Collaborate with community leaders and internal stakeholders to evolve channel strategy and guidelines.
• Develop scalable moderation and support workflows including Code of Conduct enforcement.
• Coach moderators and recruit/onboard new moderators as the community grows.
• Create content systems: announcements, highlights, prompts, and storytelling.
• Surface insights to Product, Marketing, and Support; close the loop with the community on outcomes.
• Monitor engagement metrics and run experiments to improve them.
• Manage the community tool stack and document best practices.
• Plan incident response with Legal/People/Security as needed.
• Support cross-channel engagement beyond Slack for a cohesive member journey.
