Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior subject matter expert in the Data Center team to lead structural engineering across a portfolio of data center projects, including new builds and retrofits. You’ll drive technical direction and ensure designs meet performance and constructability standards.

This role is heavily client‑ and contractor‑facing, with opportunities to mentor staff, shape project execution, and expand leadership while traveling up to 40% to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in civil/structural engineering with PE licensed in the US or ability to obtain.
• Proven experience leading senior engineers and coordinating across teams.
• Extensive knowledge of CAD/structural software and building codes.
• Strong client-facing communication and contract management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel (approx. 10%–40%).

Responsibilities

• Lead complex structural analyses and guide design approaches for data center projects.
• Mentor structural leads and coordinate with project teams and clients.
• Drive project execution, design strategy, and delivery governance.
• Oversee schedules, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination.
