Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert in structural engineering for a data center portfolio. You will lead structural design across new builds and retrofits, guiding technical direction and ensuring high-performance delivery.

The role blends technical authority with client and team collaboration, mentoring staff and engaging with clients and upper management to communicate project status and shape execution. Hybrid work is supported in the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (able to become licensed in additional states)
Knowledge of CAD software: AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation and S3D
Proficiency with structural analysis software: RISA, RamSS or STAAD
Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and related design codes
Proficiency with MS Office suite including MS Teams for remote coordination
Ability to travel to various client sites (approx. 10% to 40% travel)

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering efforts across a data center project portfolio
Mentor structural leads and coordinate with clients and management
Shape project execution, design strategy, and delivery quality
Guide design-build delivery methodology and team collaboration
Provide governance for schedules, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination
