Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator III to support data center operations in Sterling, VA. You will participate in 24/7/365 O&M activities, monitor and maintain critical infrastructure, and coordinate with vendors to ensure uptime and safety.

Ideal candidates have journeyman-level electrical/mechanical/HVAC/R skills, 5–7 years in data centers, and experience with CMMS and KPI reporting. On-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level skills in electrical, mechanical, HVAC/R; may be earned via associate degree or training program or data center experience.
• 5–7 years in Tier 2–4 data center operations or O&M roles.
• Familiarity with Work Order Control procedures and CMMS.
• Experience with subcontractor/vendor contract management.
• Experience with KPI management, capacity planning and reporting.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment; knowledge of maintenance shop practices.
• Respond to equipment alarms and stabilize operations with OEM technicians when needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Visio/AutoCAD a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and operations in a 24/7/365 data center environment.
• Use CMMS to track maintenance work, labor hours, PMs, and tickets.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for project work.
• Respond to building system alarms prioritizing critical load to ensure reliability.
• Implement equipment modifications with lockout/tagout and safe working areas.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.
• Adhere to company, government, and client policies and procedures; on-call as required.
