Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator to join a 24/7/365 Operations & Maintenance team responsible for keeping mission-critical data center infrastructure running at peak reliability. You will operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R systems, uphold safety standards, and provide mentorship at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Level 1: 0–2 years in operations or related field.
• Level 2: 3–5 years in Tier 2–4 data centers or technical maintenance.
• Level 3: 5–7 years with journeyman skills in electrical/mechanical/HVAC.
• Level 4: 7–10+ years with master level expertise; HVAC cert or Journeyman/Master license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate data center mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems.
• Respond to building system alarms prioritizing critical load protection.
• Execute preventive maintenance and follow SOPs/MOPs/EOPs/MMRs.
• Use CMMS to track work orders, labor hours, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; enforce safety protocols.
• Lead senior level activities: mentorship and capacity planning.
