Job summary

Iron Systems, Inc. in New Albany, OH is seeking a senior hands-on network technician to lead installation, turn-up, troubleshooting, and validation of data center network infrastructure under engineering direction.

You will install switches/routers, validate connectivity across VLANs and link aggregations, and drive change-control processes while mentoring junior technicians and updating as-built records.

Qualifications

• CCNA-level networking knowledge required or demonstrated competence.
• Hands-on data center cabling, SFP/QSFP, fiber polarity, and optics handling.
• Ability to follow/runbooks, document changes, and perform change control.
• Strong attention to asset records and port mapping.
• Experience with multiple L2/L3 troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced switch/router installation and turn-up per runbooks.
• L2/L3 troubleshooting using structured methods and logs.
• Validate connectivity: VLANs, LAG, and end-to-end tests.
• Lead staging, burn-in, and coordinate maintenance windows.
• Mentor L1/L0 technicians and enforce best practices.
• Update as-built network records in the designated system.
