Job summary

Setec Alpha in New York is seeking a senior data center operations engineer to translate complex infrastructure designs into reliable field deployments. You will own power delivery, cooling systems, and space utilization to meet current needs while allowing for growth.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware issues, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring DCIM and alerting integrate with production workflows. A strong data-center background and Linux/automation experience are essential.

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant experience in data center operations or critical facility environments.
• Experience managing data center capacity and density, including power delivery chains and thermal thresholds.
• Strong understanding of DLC architectures and liquid cooling environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and deployment of high-density infrastructure, ensuring technical specifications are translated accurately into field execution.
• Manage site capacity across power, cooling, and physical space to keep deployments within operating limits while preserving room for future growth.
• Oversee vendors installing specialized infrastructure, ensuring power delivery and thermal management systems meet defined operational requirements.
• Develop runbooks and validate new deployments to confirm power distribution, thermal performance, and production readiness.
• Evaluate and document next-generation infrastructure, including liquid-to-chip systems and secondary cooling loops, through lab testing and production pilots.
• Maintain monitoring and inventory records to ensure hardware and facility deployments are properly integrated into alerting and DCIM systems.
• Provide senior technical support for complex hardware and infrastructure issues, including server diagnostics, power delivery, and secondary fluid system troubleshooting.
