Job summary

Aligned Data Centers is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and operational oversight for a mission‑critical facility. You will bridge shift operations with site leadership, enforce SOPs and change controls, and drive risk mitigation across electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS systems.

The role emphasizes RCA investigations, vendor coordination, and training of Operations staff to maintain high availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline).
• 10+ years in data center operations, multi-site experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities are required.
• Experience with safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical oversight for all critical facility systems including electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, chilled water systems, fire/life safety, and BMS.
• Review and validate Change Requests (CRs) prior to Facility Manager approval to ensure procedural accuracy and safety compliance.
• Ensure all site work adheres to SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and change management procedures.
• Lead RCA investigations and coordinate corrective actions after incidents.
• Maintain operational continuity by coordinating maintenance activities, vendor work, and ongoing projects.
• Support onboarding, training, and development of Operations personnel.
• Coordinate site drills and ensure readiness per annual training plans.
• Communicate risks and updates to leadership in a timely, professional manner.
