Job summary

Aligned Data Centers, LLC is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and operational oversight across critical facility systems. The role ensures procedural integrity, risk mitigation, and continuous operation, bridging shift-based operations and site leadership.

The ideal candidate will have deep data center infrastructure expertise, strong procedural discipline, and proven leadership in high-availability environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline).
• Equivalent industry experience (10+ years in data center operations) may substitute for formal education.
• 5+ years in data center operations or critical facilities management, including multi-site responsibility.
• Demonstrated success in operational leadership, risk management, and technical training delivery.
• Experience developing and executing onboarding or technical programs within infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical oversight for electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS systems.
• Review Change Requests prior to approval to ensure procedural accuracy and safety.
• Ensure all work follows SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and change-management procedures.
• Lead RCA investigations and drive post-incident corrective actions.
• Coordinate maintenance, vendor work, and projects to maintain continuity.
• Mentor LCFTs, CFTs, CFMTs and support onboarding and training.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders as Operations point of contact for projects.
• Develop CMMS tracking for WO, PM, INC, REP, CR.
• Support audits (AMMO) and compliance readiness.
