Connection is seeking a Sr. Data Center Infrastructure Engineer for a contract role with benefits.

The engineer will perform hands-on deployment, maintenance, and support of physical data center infrastructure, including server, storage, and network equipment, cabling, and power validation. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, automation, and standardized workflows across engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on data center experience.
• Rack and stack, server deployments, and cabling expertise.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with DCIM, asset management, and monitoring tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps (SharePoint/Teams).

Responsibilities

• Perform server, storage, and network equipment installations, removals, upgrades, and relocations.
• Execute rack and stack activities and hardware mounting.
• Install and manage structured copper and fiber cabling.
• Validate power connections and equipment readiness.
• Maintain inventory records and rack elevations.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve processes.
• Develop standardized procedures to reduce manual effort.
• Leverage Microsoft tools to centralize information and dashboards.
