Job summary

Jane Street is seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Engineer to design, build, scale, and maintain our data and colocation centers. You will support operations across the Americas, collaborating with Networking, Server, Facilities, and Market Data teams to prevent issues and optimize environments.

The role requires on-site work, occasional travel to data centers, and flexibility for evening/weekend shifts. A strong Linux background and hardware proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center experience and best-practices knowledge.
• Self-starter with initiative and continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong communication and project management abilities.
• Networking fundamentals including Layer 2/3 connectivity.
• Proficiency in Linux; Bash or Python scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design deployment plans for new equipment in data centers.
• Coordinate procurement, shipping, and inventory across locations.
• Install and configure server OS in PXE environment.
• Install, cable, configure, and troubleshoot network and server hardware.
• Ensure data centers meet security, organization, safety, and documentation standards.
