Job summary

Aligned Data Centers is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and operational oversight for a mission-critical facility. This role supports the Facility Manager and Maintenace Manager by ensuring procedural integrity, risk mitigation, and continuity across electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, related engineering/operations discipline.
• Equivalent industry experience (10 years in data center operations) may substitute for formal education.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical oversight for critical facility systems including electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, chilled water systems, fire/life safety, and BMS platforms.
• Review Change Requests (CRs) prior to Facility Manager approval to ensure accuracy, risk mitigation, and safety compliance.
• Ensure all work adheres to SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and change management procedures.
• Lead RCA investigations and coordinate documentation storage and retention.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, vendor work, and projects to maintain operational continuity across shifts.
