Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to own the electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety systems.

You will supervise preventative maintenance, respond to on-call events, and coordinate with Engineering Operations Technicians and vendors to keep critical facilities running. This role is based in Lubbock, requires travel to multiple data centers, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• Experience reading procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office products experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues and oversee operation of critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures within SLAs.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with Facility Manager on team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor teams.
• May assist in building out new facilities and projects to increase efficiency.
• Work outside normal hours for routine maintenance and on-call events.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
