Job summary

Aligned Data Centers is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and operational oversight for a mission-critical facility in Sandusky, OH. You will ensure procedural integrity, risk mitigation, and continuity across electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and building management systems.

The ideal candidate has deep data center infrastructure expertise, strong procedural discipline, and proven leadership in high-availability environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 10+ years in data center operations or critical facilities management (multi-site).
• 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing technical teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for critical facility systems (electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS).
• Review Change Requests for accuracy, risk mitigation, and safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and change management across on-site activities.
• Lead RCA investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate maintenance, vendor work, and project turnover across shifts.
• Develop and deliver technical training and CMMS usage for Operations staff.
