Job summary

Aligned Data Centers is seeking a Chief Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across critical facility systems in a high-availability data center in Plano, TX. The role supports the Facility Manager and Maintenace Manager by upholding procedural integrity, risk mitigation, and safe, compliant operations.

The position requires deep expertise in electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS systems, with a proven track record in RCA, change control, and team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in data center operations or critical facilities management.
• Demonstrated leadership and training delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical oversight for all critical facility systems (electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and BMS).
• Review Change Requests and ensure safety, risk mitigation, and SOP compliance.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and coordinate cross-site projects.
• Ensure operational continuity by coordinating maintenance, vendor work, and turnarounds.
• Mentor LCFTs, CFTs, and CFMTs and support onboarding and training programs.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for audits, safety, and compliance readiness.
