Job summary

Equinix is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer in the Miami area to lead planning, design, implementation, and support of data center electrical infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers and direct projects across design, site engineering, construction management and regional operations teams, including vendors and consultants.

You will review MOPs/SOPs/EOPs, drive RCA for incidents, and ensure adherence to standards, safety, and policy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electrical system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with emphasis on datacenter or mission critical project delivery.
• Bachelor Degree in a relevant engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support & MOP Reviews: Review and approve MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs for critical electrical activities within a defined SLA, validating technical accuracy, sequencing, redundancy impact, abort/back-out provisions, and safety requirements.
• Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis: Lead RCA for electrical incidents and drive CAPA to closure.
• System Operation and Work Practices: Apply expert operating knowledge of engineering systems and cross-functional coordination.
• Training: Contribute to identifying and developing training programs and SME knowledge transfer.
• Contract Administration: Execute contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of contracts and changes.
• Leadership and Communications: Mentor junior team members and direct internal/external project teams and vendors.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Develop and maintain policies and ensure adherence across projects.
• Problem Solving: Proactively analyze complex issues and propose system-level enhancements.
