Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive operational excellence across Americas. You will serve as a SME for critical cooling infrastructure in data centers, review MOPs, lead investigations, and push energy-efficient improvements across the portfolio.

You will collaborate with site teams, engineering, operations and construction to ensure safe, reliable and scalable critical infrastructure, guiding projects from design review through handover and sustainment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in a 24/7 data center environment focusing on mechanical operations.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations and construction teams.
• Experience developing and reviewing SOWs, design drawings and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Review MOPs for critical live mechanical work with focus on sequencing, redundancy and risk mitigation.
• Lead root cause investigations and support incident response to improve operational excellence.
• Identify energy and efficiency opportunities and drive improvements across the Americas portfolio.
