Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Staff Controls Engineer to lead complex projects across design, site engineering and operations in our data centers. You will apply advanced control system knowledge to resolve issues and mentor teams while collaborating with vendors on improvements.

Responsibilities include ensuring safe working practices, applying industry standards, and leading cross-functional efforts with engineering and commissioning teams to deliver reliable controls solutions.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years in control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics or related.
• Experience in highly automated environments and Data Center engineering/operations support.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC controls systems.
• Knowledge of PLC Troubleshooting and Programming.
• Ability to lead complex system troubleshooting, upgrades, commissioning, and vendor evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Expert operating knowledge of control systems with advanced diagnostics and repairs.
• Apply Equinix processes and industry standards to resolve complex issues.
• Enforce safe working practices and explain MSDS.
• Evaluate and ensure safe practices of others.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
• Mentor junior team members and direct project teams.
• Lead projects with vendors and design teams.
