Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to oversee large-scale data center projects across the United States. You will manage on-site construction, equipment deployment, commissioning and site services, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety, budgets, and timelines.

The role requires leadership, clear communication, and a deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, with extensive travel and on-site presence to coordinate GC, subcontractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of construction management experience.
• Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and civil/structural construction.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects with values exceeding $20M.
• Excellent knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of construction from site preparation through commissioning for large-scale data center projects.
• Licensing: Obtain and maintain General Contractor’s license on behalf of Vertiv in applicable jurisdictions.
• Vendor Management: Oversee general contractors, subcontractors and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with licensing, scope, schedule, and quality standards.
• Schedule and Budget Management: Monitor construction schedules and budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders and taking corrective action as needed.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage potential risks, safety issues, and design conflicts; implement mitigation strategies promptly.
• Attend daily GC coordination meetings and communicate execution priorities, constraints, and escalation items.
• Coordinate manpower requirements to support construction and commissioning milestones.
