Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent to lead Data Center projects from our Iowa Business Unit in Des Moines, IA. You will be the primary on-site leader for subcontractors, drive safety culture, manage schedule, budget, and staffing, and foster strong client and vendor relationships.

Reporting to the top Project Manager, you will oversee field operations, ensure quality and compliance with contract requirements, and coordinate with project teams to maintain

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Project Superintendent experience.
• Commercial GC experience required.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team.
• Data Center construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job site.
• Maintain project safety in accordance with the Company’s Safety Policy.
• Develop and update the project schedule, resource allocation, and work processes.
• Prepare two-week look ahead schedules.
• Oversee daily construction activities ensuring work meets quality standards, project timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, manage their performance, and ensure they adhere to contract requirements and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify and address quality issues, and ensure work meets project specifications.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively to maintain project momentum and project schedule.
• Update project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling software.
• Assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors.
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, including constructions schedules, budgets, and quality control.
• Supervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activities.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate the work of the subcontractors’ field forces.
• Communicate effectively both externally with owners, designers, and engineers as well as internally with the project team.
• Maintain accurate cost reports.
• Ensure all required paperwork is completed, accurate, and timely.
• Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provide opportunities to help the team develop, learn, and grow.
• Foster positive relationships with both internal and external parties.
