Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead field operations on data center projects for our Iowa Business Unit, based in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, IA.

The role provides guidance to Project Superintendents, coordinates with Project Managers and Construction Managers, and develops a qualified force of field supervisors. You’ll help plan projects from preconstruction to completion and act as a liaison between project management and the field.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Eight years of commercial construction and business management experience; six years as Senior Project Superintendent.
• Strong communication, planning, and leadership skills; ability to assess plans, specs, costs, and schedules.
• Experience with field operations, project management interfaces, and multiple dispersed projects.

Responsibilities

• Advise Project Superintendents on field activities and coordination.
• Plan projects from preconstruction to completion and serve as field liaison.
• Develop and maintain qualified field supervision teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Managers on field issues.
• Represent field needs in decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• Guide development of field processes to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
