Job summary

KIPP Foundation is seeking a Senior Data Engineer/BI Lead to own design, development, and optimization of data platforms and pipelines. You will work with analytics, IT, and product teams to gather requirements, define architecture, and deliver robust data solutions including ETL, data models, and monitoring controls.

In this hands-on role, you will drive sprint planning, ensure data availability and accuracy for users, and guide team members while reporting to the Senior Director of Data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related field.
• Experience managing Tableau infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of SQL-based data platforms and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience mentoring data engineers and leading BI/Data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data architecture and pipeline solutions, including design, build, and testing strategies.
• Design and operationalize data quality framework with proactive monitoring and RCA.
• Manage data architecture and pipelines, establishing monitoring standards and controls.
• Lead BI platform management (Tableau) incl. updates, maintenance, and governance.
• Establish AI-enabled analytics capabilities in BI and evolve with needs.
• Partner with stakeholders to drive project plans across Analytics, IT Operations, and Product teams.
• Lead sprint planning, execution, and release delivery with clear communication of risks.
• Provide guidance and coaching to team members on data/BI solutions.
