Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, delivering production-grade data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and applications.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and developer relations to shape strategic initiatives, delivering with customer empathy and ensuring successful adoption and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead production solution delivery with reference architectures, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to ensure adoption.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product and support to guide issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams and understand challenges to deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices.
