Job summary

EY is seeking an Assistant Director – Data Engineering & Analytics Platforms in the United States. You will shape enterprise data, analytics and AI capabilities, partnering with leaders to set technical direction and deliver modern data platforms.

You’ll lead advanced data and AI solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, cloud platforms and emerging AI technologies, guiding architecture decisions and mentoring teams for secure, scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering or a related technology-delivery field.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to development teams and guiding architecture decisions.
• Hands‑on experience designing, developing or delivering enterprise data and analytics solutions using Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong knowledge of data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modelling, testing, monitoring and production support.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, platform integrations, data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Experience managing technical risks, dependencies, governance requirements and delivery timelines.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise data and AI platform initiatives from requirements to production support.
• Guide architecture decisions to meet security, scalability and reliability needs.
• Lead design, development, testing, deployment and support across teams.
• Review data pipelines and analytics solutions for performance and maintainability.
• Manage risks, dependencies and delivery timelines with governance controls.
• Coach and mentor engineers to promote strong practices and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Support onshore and offshore delivery models and handoffs.
