Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer SME to protect customer information systems and support DevSecOps across the lifecycle. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls while collaborating with ISSEs, ISSMs, developers, and government stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Required: MS degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, active TS/SCI with poly, and certifications such as CISSP or CEH. Experience with RMF/ATO and cloud security is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and managing SIEM tools such as Splunk.
• Experience with endpoint and network security technologies (IDS/IPS, HBSS/Trellix).
• Experience reviewing cybersecurity event logs for indicators of compromise.
• Experience supporting incident response plans, vulnerability management, RMF/ATO.
• Experience conducting cybersecurity assessments and security audits.
• Experience identifying system vulnerabilities and non-compliance.
• Experience reviewing vulnerability scans with DevSecOps for remediation.
• Experience supporting RMF authorization and risk posture discussions.
• Experience tracking POA&Ms with ISSOs/ISSEs/SCAs.
• Professional cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISSP, CySA+, CEH, GCIH).
• Education: MS degree and 15+ years of experience; or substitutions accepted.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls and tools.
• Design, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain security technologies (firewalls, HBSS/Trellix, SIEM).
• Monitor security using SIEM (Splunk) to detect, analyze, and respond to threats.
• Support investigation and remediation of cybersecurity incidents.
• Participate in change management to ensure security compliance.
• Audit systems for compliance with cybersecurity policies and baselines.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate security into pipelines.
• Stay informed on advisories and threat intelligence.
• Assist with secure configurations and compliance requirements.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation coordination.
