Johns Hopkins University seeks a Custodial Services Supervisor to manage custodial staff in assigned campus buildings and ensure high-quality service compliant with university standards.

The role reports to the Manager of Custodial Services, oversees scheduling, training, attendance, and event support, and requires a high school diploma with several years of supervisory facilities experience. Starting salary range is $38,792–$72,280 annually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years’ experience in facilities operations or custodial services required.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and processes desired.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record required.
• Custodial experience a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience in a service business strongly preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, a plus.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience according to the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsabilités

• Maintain contact with the Manager of Custodial Services to discuss custodial needs.
• Conduct frequent inspections to ensure services are provided as directed.
• Participate in the quality assurance program as implemented by the Manager of Custodial Operations.
• Oversee and ensure proper use and care of equipment and supplies.
• Assist in development of guidelines for standards in custodial activities.
• Assist in coordination of events and daily function setups.
• Supervise the bargaining unit custodial staff in assigned buildings.
• Assist with personnel management including interviewing staff, disciplining and coaching.
• Compute and document weekly employee work hours and monitor attendance.
• Provide training to employees one-on-one and in groups.
• Foster inclusiveness and promote good employee morale.
