Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Cyber Engineer for the Air Defense team to design and implement cryptographic and platform security for trusted systems in contested environments. This hands-on role works at the lowest levels of the stack, implementing cryptography on constrained hardware, hardening Linux/firmware, and building validation tooling.

You will interact with government reviewers, build automated accreditation evidence, and ensure secure communications across degraded links.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of engineering experience with security-critical systems.
• Applied cryptography in practice with keys, entropy and boot identity.
• Low-level systems depth: Linux kernel, drivers, firmware, and debugging tools.
• Experience with secure communications, TLS/PKI, and degraded networks.
• Experience building and sustaining CI/CD pipelines and treating infrastructure as software.
• Familiarity with RMF and NIST 800-53 and automating accreditation evidence.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve FIPS 140-3 validated encryption across products.
• Own the platform trust chain: secure boot, attestation, firmware signing, and rollback protection.
• Design and implement full-disk/data-at-rest encryption and key hierarchies.
• Build anti-tamper and zeroization: detection, response, and secure destruction paths.
• Engineer secure communications: TLS/PKI, tunnels, gateways for cross-domain, CNSA cipher suites.
• Build audit/validation tooling and adversarial tests to prove design correctness.
• Harden Linux, container, and firmware baselines; codify them across deployments.
• Automate the compliance surface using policy-as-code and machine-readable policy.
