Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Cyber Engineer to design cryptographic and platform security for Air Defense products. You will implement FIPS-validated encryption, secure boot, and secure communications, working low in the stack on constrained hardware and firmware.

You will harden Linux/firmware, build validation tooling for accreditation in contested environments, and interface with government reviewers with real technical output.

Qualifications

• Real fluency in C/C++, Rust, Golang or Python; C or Rust preferred for firmware and crypto.
• 5–8 years of engineering with security-critical systems ownership.
• Applied cryptography: implement/integrate crypto libraries, manage keys and entropy.
• Low-level systems depth: Linux kernel, drivers, firmware; debugging tools like gdb/ftrace.
• Experience hardening firmware, embedded, or cyber-physical systems against adversaries.
• Secure communications: TLS/PKI, tunneling in degraded networks.
• CI/CD: pipelines, version control, tests; policy-as-code and automation.
• US Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI with poly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve FIPS-validated encryption across products.
• Own the platform trust chain: secure boot, attestation, firmware signing, rollback protection.
• Design and implement full-disk and data-at-rest encryption; key management and rotation.
• Build anti-tamper and zeroization: tamper detection and response; emergency erase and key destruction paths.
• Engineer secure communications: protocol design, mTLS, cross-domain tunnels and CNSA cipher suites.
• Build audit/validation tooling: instrumentation, harnesses, fuzzers, adversarial tests.
• Harden Linux, container, and firmware baselines; codify them for multiple deployments.
• Automate compliance: machine-readable policies for NIST/CNSSI/800-53 in CI.
