Job summary

zerohash is seeking a Senior Settlement & Trading Operations Engineer to own and optimize the end-to-end settlement and trading operations for crypto and fiat movements. You will resolve complex breaks, write SQL against production data, and coordinate with Product and Engineering to keep operations steady and scalable.

You will build runbooks, automate repetitive tasks with Python, and contribute to operational dashboards, while collaborating across teams and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in financial operations, settlement, payments, or related technical back-office role, with mentoring/leadership experience.
• Strong Python: write, debug, and maintain scripts, data manipulation, error handling, REST API integration.
• Strong SQL: multi-table joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions on large datasets.
• Hands-on with AI tooling: regular use of AI-assisted tools for coding, problem solving, and docs.
• API fluency: design understanding and using Postman against prod financial systems.
• Attention to detail in high-stakes financial environments to prevent errors.
• Clear communication: explain technical issues to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own daily settlement and trading operations across crypto and fiat movements.
• Run reconciliations across ledgers, bank/custodian statements, and partner files.
• Manage the trade lifecycle from execution to settlement, handling exceptions safely.
• Investigate failed transfers and mismatches using production data and logs.
• Write Python scripts to automate reconciliations and recurring tasks.
• Support go-lives and asset listings, providing operational feedback to Product/Engineering.
• Work with AI tooling to draft scripts, spot anomalies, and generate docs.
• Report on operational health with dashboards and data models for leadership.
