U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join Institutional Risk Management within Credit Risk Management. The role evaluates financial institutions, sovereign risk, and related counterparty exposures, providing ratings and approval-ready recommendations.

You will partner with lines of business and RCA teams to ensure a strong risk management framework and adherence to regulations and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Typically more than six years of applicable experience.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work across lines of business and with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze the creditworthiness of financial institutions, foreign banks, broker-dealers, and sovereigns.
• Perform due diligence and complete credit underwriting in accordance with standards and policy.
• Assess operating environment, management, ownership, market position, concentrations and financial performance.
• Analyze sovereign and country risk, including the economic and political environment affecting counterparties.
• Assign internal credit ratings and prepare well-supported recommendations for approval.
• Establish, review, and manage credit limits for institutions and countries.
• Collaborate with partners and other risk professionals to support an effective risk management framework.
