Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a Senior Credit Analyst to join Institutional Risk Management. You will research and analyze financial institutions, sovereign and country risk, assign ratings, and recommend credits for approval. The role supports multiple business lines and partners with RCA teams to ensure robust risk controls.

Ideal candidates have extensive counterparty underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and a global market perspective to navigate complex exposures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Typically more than six years of applicable experience.
• Experience underwriting counterparty credits in financial institutions.
• Strong analytical and relationship-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze creditworthiness of financial institutions, foreign banks, broker-dealers, and sovereigns.
• Perform due diligence and complete credit underwriting per standards and policy.
• Assess operating environment, management, ownership, market position and performance.
• Analyze sovereign and country risk and related political/economic factors.
• Assign internal credit ratings and prepare well-supported recommendations for approval.
• Establish and manage credit limits for institutions, countries, and related activities.
• Collaborate with partners to support an effective risk management framework.
