Job summary

First Interstate Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst III in Washington to independently evaluate and underwrite complex commercial credits, including CRE, C&I, and hospitality, in collaboration with Relationship Managers. The role focuses on credit quality, risk mitigation, and portfolio performance.

The analyst will prepare financial spreads, assess collateral, and determine appropriate risk ratings, while mentoring junior analysts and supporting regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 7-9 years of banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Experience with financial spread software required
• Commercial banking experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Reads, reviews, and understands financial statements including tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements.
• Prepares financial spreads for CRE, C&I, municipalities, non-profits, and individuals.
• Independently analyzes creditworthiness by reviewing loan applications and cash flow metrics.
• Writes comprehensive analysis reports with data visuals and narrative.
• Determines risk ratings and develops credit recommendations.
• Mentors junior analysts and supports training and quality control.
