Job summary

Stillman Bank Corp NA is seeking a Credit Analyst III to independently underwrite complex commercial credits, including CRE and agricultural loans. You will evaluate repayment capacity, structure credits, and monitor risk with minimal supervision in a hybrid IL-based office network.

The role mentors Credit Analysts I/II, escalates material concerns, and negotiates terms with lenders, customers, and advisors. Prior experience in analytical modeling and loan structuring is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, tax returns, related entity structures, global cash flow, guarantor analysis, and loan documentation concepts.
• Advanced analytical skills in financial modeling, projections, stress testing, collateral evaluation, risk ratings, and loan structuring.
• Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to defend credit conclusions and explain recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and credit analysis software; Abrigo experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor analysts, review work for quality and consistency, and coordinate complex assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned complex underwriting requests, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews from information gathering through presentation.
• Analyze complex financial statements, tax returns, and ownership structures; reconcile related entity transactions and nonrecurring items.
• Evaluate primary and secondary repayment sources, including business and personal cash flow; assess guarantor liquidity.
• Assess collateral quality, marketability, and coverage; review appraisals and environmental reports.
• Develop and present well-supported credit recommendations to approvers and committees.
• Monitor high-risk relationships through covenant testing and exception analysis; recommend action.
• Provide actionable feedback and coaching to junior analysts and develop training materials.
• Prepare portfolio analyses, stress testing, and management summaries; support audits and examinations.
• Lead process improvements and updates to underwriting procedures.
