Job summary

Encore Bank in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst III to assess credit risk for individuals and businesses. The role involves independent underwriting of less complex cases and collaboration on more complex transactions with Senior Credit Officers.

Responsibilities include underwriting, due diligence, financial statement analysis, and creating credit memos to inform decisions. The analyst will guide junior staff and contribute to risk culture while supporting client relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of credit analysis experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment.
Experience in commercial underwriting, portfolio management, credit risk management or similar preferred.
Strong product knowledge and expertise in financing approaches and techniques for equity or debt.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Leads the transaction due diligence process with Relationship Managers and/or clients.
Underwrites commercial loan requests including real estate, construction, C&I, franchise, equipment, and SBA loans.
Spreads business tax returns and financial statements in Moody’s.
Prepares financial statement analysis and cash flow, EBITDA, and repayment assessments.
Writes detailed credit memos with an assessment of borrower risk and collateral.
Collaborates with Relationship Managers to structure loans to mitigate risk.
Reviews third-party reports and assists with portfolio monitoring and annual covenant checks.
Mentors junior staff and supports risk culture in the bank.
