Job summary

Hoist & Crane Service Group in Richmond, VA seeks a Senior Technician, a heavy equipment mechanic specializing in modernization and repair of cranes. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades, and lead field technicians while liaising with management and customers in a safety-first environment.

This role requires on-call availability, weekend service as needed, and ability to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years of crane repair & maintenance experience.
• 3-4 years electrical and/or mechanical experience may substitute crane repair & maintenance experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Must commit to working and driving safely.
• Must be willing to work at various heights.
• Basic computer skills to use web-based crane inspection programs.
• Must communicate well with others and work independently or as a team.
• Knowledge of hand tools and having hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required.
• Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.
• Train and mentor field technicians
• Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule and complete work daily.
• Consult with customers regarding repair and safety issues and recommendations to improve services.
• Maintain all company issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in safe working order.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely; notify supervisor of deficiencies.
• Maintain supply of HCSG forms and materials in the vehicle.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Attend company trainings and seminars.
• Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program
• Other duties as assigned
