Job summary

Apple seeks a CPU Performance Engineer focused on CPU micro-architecture to join the Platform Architecture team in Beaverton, Oregon. You will push the boundaries of branch prediction, prefetchers, and CPU pipelines, working with a world-class engineering group.

You will analyze workloads and collect data to validate ideas, collaborate with micro-architecture and RTL designers, and help drive data-driven decisions across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with CPU architecture and micro-architecture.
• Experience in performance and/or power simulation environments.
• Coding experience including object-oriented programming with C and C++.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Perl or Python.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workloads (single- and multi-threaded) to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with CPU designers in micro-architecture and RTL to assess feasibility of ideas.
• Maintain and improve the simulation environment to enable data-driven decisions across the team.
