Apple Inc. is seeking a CPU Performance Engineer to advance CPU micro-architecture for iPhone, iPad, and Mac platforms. You will analyze workloads, model and simulate performance, and collaborate with hardware and RTL designers to drive data-driven improvements.

The role demands deep knowledge of CPU pipelines, branch prediction, and data prefetchers, with experience in C/C++ and scripting. This is a high-impact, onsite opportunity at Apple’s Santa Clara campus.

Qualifications

• Experience with CPU architecture and micro-architecture.
• Experience in performance simulation environments.
• Coding experience including object-oriented programming with C and C++.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
• MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Responsibilities

• Analyze single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads to identify bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with CPU designers to assess feasibility of ideas through modeling.
• Refine ideas and model correlation to support data-driven decisions.
• Maintain and improve the simulation environment to boost team productivity.
