Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a CPU Performance & Workload Analysis Architect to join the Platform Architecture team in Austin. You will bridge hardware design and software development, shaping how real user workloads map to Apple silicon and software stacks.

You will profile workloads, build and maintain analysis tools, and collaborate with CPU, SoC, and software partners to guide future CPU roadmaps and optimizations.

Qualifications

• Experience with CPU architecture and micro-architecture.
• Object-oriented programming experience with C and C++.
• Experience with CPU performance analysis and associated tools.
• Experience with common performance benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Profile and analyze existing and emerging workloads, bring up in CPU/SOC simulation environment.
• Develop and maintain performance and trace analysis tools.
• Develop and implement visual extensions to assist with data analysis for internal and software partners.
• Run and analyze workloads on simulators and prototype devices and develop automation for performance analysis infrastructure.
• Develop domain expertise in emerging fields (ex: ML, AR/VR) to identify hardware opportunities and assist software teams.
• Profile and analyze workload in potential new product areas to guide CPU roadmap decisions.
